Summer Stories: Put Down Your Pens!

Hi Everyone!

Good news, Garden Gate Arts are collaborating over the Summer Holidays with a group of great English tutors to bring ‘Put Down Your Pens’ to the Harrow area.

In small groups of 4 to 6, children leaving primary school have the opportunity to really get ahead with their reading over the summer. Rather than just focusing on secondary school texts, we will be encouraging students to study a range that spans 2500 years!

Over the course of 10 hour-long sessions over five weeks, children will be looking at (full course TBC):

  • Ancient Greek Drama: Euripides, heroes and gods
  • The Tudor World: performance, poetry and politics
  • Folk Tales: Beowulf, monsters and magic
  • Stories Today: modernism in painting, poetry and music
  • Young Storytellers: how does a story work?

And even better news, we’re offering the course at an extremely competitive rate of £14 per hour-long session, or £120 for the whole course if paid for in advance (a saving of 15%).

27th July – 27th August

Monday and Thursday mornings (more sessions TBC), The Beacon, Scott Crescent, Rayners Lane, London, HA2 0TY
