Ms. Shakespeare

Competition time!

Ms. Shakespeare @ Magic Rock Tap for IWD 2018

Our next event will once again be held on International Women’s Day as a part of Huddersfield Literature Festival. We are putting on a night of stories told and written by women, and each of these stories will be inspired by a woman from Yorkshire’s past. The aim is to recapture women’s narratives before they fade into forgotten history, whilst supporting female artists from the region.

We are commissioning three up-and-coming Yorkshire authors to rediscover forgotten women’s narratives through researching records and personal histories. The writers, all of whom will be female or identify as women, will retell these stories in their own words and styles. Each will have their work performed to the Ms. Shakespeare audience on International Women’s Day, 8th March 2018 at the opening of the Huddersfield Literature Festival.
